Founded in 1994 by Caroline Clegg, Feelgood celebrates its 30th Anniversary this year and we have chosen to revive our 2010 show Slave – A Question of Freedom. There has never been a more prescient time to revive this double award-winning show, to shine a light on the devastation in Sudan and the overwhelming increases in trafficking and enslavement around the world.

Mende’s story of her fight for freedom is more relevant today than ever.

Feelgood has followed its mission with passion and determination to create theatre with a definite sense of risk and adventure, delighting audiences young and old with the sheer joy and surprise of live theatre. They were innovators in bold site-specific productions and powerful stories at traditional venues, touring national and internationally. Feelgood's inaugural
show, 'Our Girls' opened with the actors flying in on a WWII bomber!

We have gone on to create spectacular shows in Africa, Europe and the West End. We have employed thousands of creatives through 42 original productions, 22 world premieres, 42 new compositions and 42 education programmes.

Feelgood's roots are firmly embedded in great storytelling and outstanding production values.

As well as touring, we have been honoured to create spectacular site-specific, outdoor promenade and hauntingly beautiful indoor commissions at Heaton Park and Hall for over 3 decades since 2016 as the resident stakeholder theatre company.
